It feels like I've been taking part in Complete War games on and off for my complete goddamn existence. Oh, Rome — what did CA do to you? At launch, Rome II ($59.95 - Emperor Edition) was a catastrophe. Complete War video games have often had their split personalities, but nothing at all prepared series fans for Rome II. At a single minute, you are locked in a fierce battle only to have a floating boat make its way by means of the terrain. It essentially launched the province method used by Rome 2 and Attila. Its political system, while not fantastic, truly had a meaningful effect on gameplay (something otherwise only correct of the Medieval games).
